Feathers and Tails Hideaway has been in operation since 2013 and boasts a radio show called THE PET LADY on Radio Ear Netwwork.com that teaches and informs on being the best Pet Parent you can be.   On over night stays we bring in your mail and newspapers. If needed we even take out your trash. We will do a complimentary security sweep to ensure that everything around your property is exactly where you want it to be and make sure that nothing is out of place.   Our clients give us high marks for keeping in touch with them through texting and picture taking. We make sure that you always know your pet is safe and happy. We make sure that all your requirements and tasks are done with care and due diligence prior to your arrival home.   We always check to make sure that the kitty boxes are clean and neat when you come home. We also make sure your dogs/cats/birds have been fed, watered and walked if needed before your arrival so you don’t have to do those things upon your return. You can get right back into the swing of things without your pet realizing how long you have been gone.   We are an honorable and reputable company and will be more than happy to submit customer references. We are a bonded company and each Independent Contractor is subject to a background check and is required to complete a 40 hour certification course in order to work under our umbrella. This way you know you are getting a qualified and compassionate Pet Assistant.   Our services are always considered the premier service of the pet sitting industry.

If you book our time you will be charged for that time even if you ALLOW the Pet Assistant to leave early.  We are required to pay our Assistants for the full amount of time they are booked.

WEEKLY OR MONTHLY VISITS

IF YOU CHOOSE TO BOOK VISITS FOR YOUR PETS ON A MONTHLY OR WEEKLY BASIS, THE MONTH OR NUMBER OF AGREED VISITS/DAYS MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE OF THAT MONTH OR WEEK TO ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE A GUARANTEED ASSISTANT FOR YOUR VISIT OTHERWISE OUR BOOKINGS ARE CONSIDERED OPEN AND WILL BE BOOKED AS THEY COMED IN.

We can put you with the perfect pet for your home. Ask us how we can help match you and your home with just the right new furry family member!
We will be glad to consult and help you find just the right pet to fit you and your home.  This includes personal surveys and trips to local shelters to find just the right pet.  We cannot guarantee that you will keep your pet, we hope you do once one has been found.  The process is not an easy one and we go to great lengths to find just the right one for you.  We do the research and will find out a lot about you and the pet you are looking for in order make a great match.  This is in hopes of keeping more animals out of shelters and in homes that are loving and ones that intend to keep them as furever family members.

ON LOCK-DOWN OVERNIGHT STAYS:

If we are required to stay 24 hours and are not in anyway allowed to leave in order to maintain our clients that require daily visits or walks, expect an additional rate to be added to that charge.  i.e. $75 plust $65 equaling a total 24 HOUR charge of $140 for that 24 hour period for one pet would then become $150 and $130. This is only 1 overnight example.(the additional $10 per pet will be added and doubled as well)

 

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR ASSISTANTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE THEIR OWN FOOD AND IT IS NOT UP TO THE CLIENT TO FEED THEM.

IN YOUR HOME ONLY*

LOCK-DOWN SERVICE IS ANY TIME WE ARE REQUIRED  BY A CLIENT TO STAY IN THEIR HOME CARING FOR THEIR PET DUE TO SPECIAL NEEDS——

SPECIAL NEEDS ARE AND WILL INCLUDE MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ANY PET OR HOME SECURITY OR IF THE CLIENT REQUESTS CONSTANT COMPANIONSHIP.  IF YOU HAVE A PET THAT HAS HIGH SEPARATION ANXIETY OR IS KNOWN TO EXHIBIT BAD BEHAVIOR WHEN LEFT ON IT’S OWN AND REQUIRES  24  HOUR SERVICE WITHOUT A SITTER BEING ABLE TO LEAVE TO SERVICE OTHER CLIENT VISITS IS CONSIDERED A LOCK-DOWN SITUATION.

DAYS SUBTRACTED OR NUMBER OF ANIMALS CARED FOR SUBTRACTED FROM ORIGINAL BOOKING CONTRACTS WILL BE PAID AS PER AGREED IN ORIGINAL CONTRACTS

The check list is for you and your pet so that we can have as much information on hand as possible in the event of an emergency. RULES

#1 WE ARE NOT DOG HANDLERS
If you want a dog handler, hire a trainer or ask for a recommendation.
#2 WE DO NOT CLEAN KENNELS
We do not believe in keeping animals in kennels, if you have dogs that require that you should consult rule #1
#3 WE DO NOT DO LAUNDRY
If you need that service, hire a house keeper.
#4 WE DO NOT DO HOUSE KEEPING
If you need that service, consult rule #3

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT LIGHT HOUSE KEEPING MEANS JUST EXACTLY THAT AND IT IS A COURTESY WE OFFER NOT A SERVICE WE PROVIDE.  OUR PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANTS ARE REQUIRED TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND NOTHING SHOULD BE OUT OF PLACE.  WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON LEAVING YOUR HOME IN BETTER SHAPE THAN YOU WOULD EXPECT.  WE WANT YOU TO BE ABLE TO COME HOME AND HAVE NOTHING MORE TO DO THAN ENJOY BEING HOME WITH YOUR PET.

We are a business and it is important to understand our operating procedures.

We do charge a deposit and we do charge penalties for cancellations and amended agreements.

We are fair and try to do the right thing by all our customers but if you book us, know what will happen if you cancel or amend your agreements.****  

Please know that when you are buying our services that we are not a fly-by-night operation and we are professionals.

We expect our customers to be considerate of our assistants and understand what they are purchasing and to know what to expect if you change your mind last minute.  

We will ask people to go back and read what they should have read in the first place before booking our services if there are issues.

A booking fee for an assistant has to be paid when you cancel last minute because their time has been booked.

Please understand this when you get our bill or heaven forbid, a letter from our attorney.
